Biography

There was a little ditty released back in the seventies about a crab that fell in love with a lobster. Now although the crab, as all crabs, walked side-ways, and the lobster (or lobsteress) walked straight, the crab never gave up until he had won the lobster over and they managed to pull it off. We don't know how exactly, but the point is that crabs, as with Andy Little (born 6 July), devote themselves entirely to anything they set their heart's on ; and Andy had set his heart on Central FM back in 1999.

He doesn't walk side-ways (we think), but he is caring, reliable, athletic, dedicated, friendly, charming and one of the most down-to-earth people you could ever meet.

Born in Darlington and growing up in Newton, Andy attended Woodham Comprehensive and then later went to Bishop Auckland Technical College where he obtained a National Diploma in Leisure and Recreational Management. And this means? This means David Hasselhoff was almost on the “don't think this one's going to star opposite Pamela Anderson” list, because being a speedo-clad life-guard was Andy's first job... a position un-floatable girls enjoyed immensely.

When fictitious life-saving became too tiresome for Andy, he took on a job as Entertainments manager at Pontins and then later became a Gym Manager.

Always keen on anything exciting and sporty, Andy took a trip to Florida to swim with Dolphins (probably did a bit of bird watching too) and then became even more ecstatic when invited to attend a private test session for McLaren Formula One racing. Sport being his main hobby, Andy relishes in playing and watching football, tennis and swimming. Films, travel and music are also on the top of the hobbies list.

Although the 80's influenced Andy the most musically, his taste is diverse and varied. From Depeche Mode and Spandau Ballet to Meatloaf, Queen and Nickelback. With his passion for music, he decided to embark on a radio presenting career, and being an early riser (must be his level of fitness), he brings you the Week-end Kick Starter every Saturday and Sunday morning from 8am.

It's the best way to start your week-end. Whether you're waking up dreaming about enjoying some eggs, bacon, fruit, coffee, tea, dough-nuts, pancakes, toast, cereal, beans, sausages or simply a glass of milk, make sure it's accompanied by Andy Little and his great mix of music.
