Central FM Presenters Enjoy A Night At Moochers
Great food, uplifting live entertainment and a vibrant atmosphere. Sounds like the ingredients for a good night out, right? That's why the Central FM presenting team headed to Moocher's Jazz Café for a guaranteed good night out.
Moocher's Jazz Café in Fuengirola has been one of the Coast's most talked-about restaurants for over a decade. Combining proper "soul food," nightly live music, friendly service, a New Orleans-style restaurant and beautiful roof terrace, Moocher's simply never disappoints.
After so much food, too much wine and great music from the night's performer, Ian Jacks, there was only one thing to do...dance! But it didn't stop there. The Central FM Tonies (that's Keys and Wells, naturally) couldn't resist singing backing vocals for Ian on a series of classic tracks. Their years of musical experience evident, the singers-turned-radio presenters bought down the house.

Liza Minelli Live
The phrase “living legend” is often over-used. But in Liza Minelli’s case it almost seems that it doesn’t quite do her justice. So when the Oscar, Emmy and Tony-winning actress and singer - and, of course, daughter of Judy garland – came to perform in Marbella, the Central FM team just had to be there.
The crowd at the Hotel Puente Romano cheered and whooped throughout as Liza put on a phenomenal show. The high-energy performance showcased her immense talent as she indulged the audience with her big numbers, candid stories as part of the Hollywood elite and breath-taking dance routines.

The Central FM 80s Party
Party people from all over the Coast joined Central FM in bringing back the hedonistic days of the 1980s on Friday 1st June at the beautiful Hotel Tamisa. It was the ultimate party to celebrate the colourful decade that redefined big hair and big shoulder pads. We paid tribute that part of history where the kids from Fame wore ra-ra skirts and legwarmers; where fingerless gloves were a fashion statement; slogan t-shirts told the world what you thought; ripped jeans and leather jackets meant you rocked and when Michael Jackson became the King of Pop and Boy George became, well, the queen.
Guests dressed to impress as we re-lived the 1980s Central-style at this stunning hotel.
Adding to the mixture of a champagne reception, a delicious 4 course meal, shots of “fun” served by the gorgeous Tequila Girls, live music from the amazing Lindsay Rose and Andy Claridge and dancing into the early hours was the fundraising for the Santa Maria Animal Charity.
Many thanks to John Peach and the staff at the Hotel Tamisa, La Cala Lions Club for their tireless work, Jump Photography and all our revelers who turned up to support the event.

Oh, what a night! When Central FM decided to throw a 1960s party, to be hosted at the beautiful Hotel Tamisa in Mijas Golf, people all over the Coast cleared their diary. It was the decade that gave us short skirts and flower power… And the party was the perfect excuse to dress up and get down.
We paid homage to the decade that gave us The Beatles, Woodstock, The Rolling Stones and Hendrix. It was the decade that JFK got elected, Elvis hit the UK, Audrey ate breakfast at Tiffany’s, The Thunderbirds were go, Jackie O and Twiggy were icons, England won the world cup, Alfie wondered what it was all about and Martin Luther King had a dream.

And fashion was all about making a statement. Tank-tops, head-bands, bell-bottoms, afros, beehives, flower power prints, paisley, false eyelashes, mini skirts, go-go boots, skinny ties and beads…you name it, the party guests wore it!
No sooner had people finished the delicious four-course meal prepared by the hotel’s expert chefs, people were up on the dance floor. Jiving, twisting and rock n rolling to the super-talented vocalist Tina Rose and the always-superb Alan Shiels. Even Central FM’s Tony Keys was also tempted back on to the stage for the first time in years to perform a sixties medley. Later on in the evening, delighted party-goers boogied along to the new girl-group, Minx, who proved once again why they’re an act who really live up to the hype.

Not only was the party the perfect excuse to let your hair down, it was also to raise money for the SOS animal charity. Sponsoring animals in the shelter, proceeds from the tickets, a raffle and a donation of € 2000 by the La Cala Lions Club will all go a long way in helping the team at SOS build much-needed additional kennels.

With various incarnations of John Lennon, Elvis, Twiggy, Dylan, Andy Pandy and other sixties icons swirling around the psychedelic dance floor into the early hours, this was a party that would do the 1960s proud. After all, it was the decade that taught the world how to party, man.
Central FM would like to thank John Peach and the staff at the Hotel Tamisa for their all hard work; Tina Rose, Alan Shiels and Minx for the first-class entertainment; Shaun Chandler for the photography; La Cala Lions and everyone who came along and supported the charity.

A big thanks to everyone who took part!

Nataly and George get fit at Iron People on The Beach.
Nataly García and George Prior attended The Iron People On The Beach event, sponsored by Central FM, Malaga University and the Torremolinos Town Hall.
The first one of its kind, the event on Saturday 13th May proved to be the Coast's most exciting sports and fitness event.
Thousands came from all over the Coast and took part in competitions and classes in power-lifting, aerobics, salsa-aerobics, aquarobics, beach volleyball, football and tennis.
Iron People organizer, Angel Carmona, said "our aim was to show that getting fit can be fun. The event was well-attended and we look forward to next year's event which will be even bigger!"
Nataly and George (not known for their sporting abilities!!) cheered from the chiringuitos and bars as the crowd entered the competitions and the various activities. An onlooker convinced Nataly to take part in the Salsa Aerobics and, with her Spanish blood and natural flair for dancing, she couldn?t turn down the opportunity.

MEGABOWL BREAST CANCER APPEAL
Everything went pink at Megabowl & Sports Bar in La Cañada, Marbella in aid of the Breast Cancer Haven Charity.
Central FM and other major companies including Marbella Models, The Iberian Times, The Traders Guild, Marbella Stretch Limos, Reflections Hair, Nails & Beauty and Oxigeno sponsored lanes to raise money and awareness for a disease which kills over 250 people a day.
The event was a huge success with hundreds of people ready to have fun for a worthwhile cause. The Central FM team got into the spirit of things early on with a little help from the gorgeous Marbella Models girls who were providing Tequila shots on tap... and of course the beautiful pink chocolate fountain went down a treat!
Bowling scores on the Central FM lanes were perhaps not the best on the night, but the team certainly made an impression!!
Particularly when it was decided that it might be easier to send a presenter down the lane instead of a bowling ball!!

September - FIFPro Event
The new event of the year - the FIFPro Awards! A show where Sport meets Pop and where you get to see over 50 top football players in the same venue. The event was based around the concept of building up an ideal team out of exceptional football players and form the FIFPro World Xl team - a team made up of the best players. The players themselves voted for who they wanted to win, so it couldn't have been more fair.
The FIFPro World Xl team for 2005 are :
Goalkeeper : Nelson Dida
Defenders : John Terry, Cafu, Paolo Maldini and Alessandro Nesta
Midfield : Frank Lampard, Claude Makalele, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho
Strikers : Samuel Eto'o and Andrei Shevchenko
Andy Little from Central FM met up with one of the lucky winners, Amy Pelham at the FIFPro Awards where they cornered top Footballer John Terry and asked for a pic. He was more than happy to oblige and Amy, who is a huge fan, was over the moon!
Claire Cockroft who won the second pair of tickets decided that the best move was to mingle with the footballers themselves, so Andy Little never got to see her there, although she later told us that she thoroughly enjoyed it.
