What have we been up to?
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Central FM's team of presenters enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Simon Dalli's Pasta Factory in Puerto Banus. The food was scrumptious and the service amazing - you couldn't fault anything. Pasta, steaks, pizzas, huge salads, delicious desserts and a great selection of wine.
There was a bit of Dr Evil going on mixed with wearing little red serviette hats! (Odd bunch)... And of course a bit of Sambuca to round off a superb evening.
Reserve your table on 952 81 58 71 or visit the website www.pastafactory.com and don't forget the promotion "kids eat for free"! [click to enlarge] ![]() ![]() ![]() |

P.A.D.S PIRATES AND PRINCESSES
Central FM's Keith Dewhurst attended the animal charity P.A.D.S Pirates and Princesses Summer Ball at the Hotel Tamisa.
The ladies dusted off their tiaras whilst the men turned into swashbuckling Johnny Depp lookalikes to raise money for this worthy cause on the terrace of the beautiful Tamisa. Keith compered the auction and kept the guests entertained with music and dancing until the early hours."

NOVELLI'S LAUNCH PARTY
Jean Christophe Novelli’s new
restaurant launched at the Hotel Lorcrimar, Puerto Banus, with a glitzy
party full of famous faces, international jet-setters, socialites and
media personalities. Jean-Christophe and the team from the Hotel treated Central FM’s Emma, Nataly, Andy and George and the other party-goers to an extensive sample of the exciting menu as the champagne flowed freely into the night. The Novelli Restaurant is part of a multi-pound renovation of the Hotel including luxury suites and a roof top cocktail lounge. The restaurant’s conservatory allows the existence for a private dining area for business meetings or an intimate dining area for friends and family. There’s also the only Chef’s Table in the region, where up to 10 guests are able to marvel at the chef’s artistry in the kitchen. The glamorous crowd enjoyed music from X Factor’s Spanish beauty, Ruth Lorenzo, who sang her heart out with tracks including her earth-shattering version of Purple Rain, followed by a powerful performance by a spine-tingling Il Divo tribute act. It was also a family affair with Jean-Christophe’s daughter, Christine, performing to the party-people packed restaurant. Novelli’s is open for lunch and dinner. Call 952 90 61 05 or visit www.hotel-lorcrimar.com. |

DEEP PURPLE IN CONCERT
Deep Purple are pioneers of heavy metal and Central FM joined thousands of fans as the legendary band performed in Estepona as part of their European tour.
Since their chart success in 1970, they have continued to amaze fans worldwide. Still hitting notes he was nearly 40 years ago is lead vocalist Ian Gillan. The latest member to join Deep Purple was guitarist Steve Morse. The sound of his guitar solo rang across the Estepona bull ring causing jaw-dropping reactions. The one handed drum solo performed by Ian Paice was an incredible sight and thanks to giant screens everyone could live the spine-tingling moment. A performance of Aranjuez by keyboardist Don Airey, again shown on the large screen, caused the whole atmosphere to change again and the crowd noise increased even more. Roger Glover completed the line up with skills on the bass guitar that added to the full sound that is Deep Purple. 40 years on these masters of metal left Estpona reminding fans of the sound that has been ringing through the world of music for decades... and will continue to do so for many years to come. |
SIMPLY RED IN MARBELLA
Simply Red, one of the best-loved bands, performed in Marbella as part of their Farewell World Tour and Central FM couldn't wait to hear them belt on their songs. And they didn't disappoint. Incredible sound, a soulful voice that seems to have only improved as the years have passed and an electric atmosphere made this a truly unforgettable show.After 27 years and a string of record-breaking singles, Mick Hucknell will disband Simply Red in 2009 to pursue solo projects. Those of us in the packed auditorium were thrilled as the band played all their biggest hits including A New Flame, Stars, Something Got Me Started and If You Don't Know Me By Now. Whatever Mick goes onto next, it seems his loyal army of fans won't be too far away. |
