Biography

It must be every Capricorn's nightmare to be asked what animal represents them. To stand proudly and announce at full volume “the goat” cannot be an easy task, unless of course you're George Prior, (born 17 Jan) in which case it makes very interesting conversation. He'll give you 35 reasons why the goat is the best farm animal, the best wild animal and every child's favourite pet. He'll embark upon a tale about a goat that became a super-hero, and how Napoleon in George Orwell's Animal Farm should have been a goat and not a pig. And as for Babe...bad casting!

Born and raised in Guildford, Surrey,England, George graduated from Guildford County School and was voted Deputy Head Boy. ( George insists the deputies were the “popular choice”).

Naturally, like most of us, your a-level subjects, (in George's case Economics, English literature and Spanish), don't get the chance to be exhibited right away and you're somehow forced to suppress all the knowledge accumulated until a later date forcing George to experience his first job on the till at Sainsbury's. ( Well there is an element of Economics involved... ) From there, to a department store selling men's clothing, which explains George's great fashion sense! So you see, first jobs are never in vain...

Early hobbies included horse-riding, skiing, films, music and travel.

When British Airways had to choose from thousands of students who would travel to India for an adventure/charity holiday, George's name appeared on the list. After travelling to the East, there was no stopping him. Spain, Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Spain, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Spain, America, Spain.finally settling for . Spain.

After working at a UK radio station for a few years, and with his increased love of Spain he decided to find work on radio here. In 1998 he was offered a job at Central FM and has never looked back. Being a workaholic, George immerses himself in many of the different facets of radio, from presenting to promotions. His drive and enthusiasm is effortless and extremely infectious.

His non-stop energy must have something to do with all the iron-pumping at the gym and possibly the weekend clubbing. He has tried to convince most at Central FM to follow suit, but they prefer to leave those high-fibre and veggie diets to he who does it so well! They prefer dough-nuts...

His diverse taste in music, loving anything from Aretha Franklin to Beyoncé Knowles to Bon Jovi and U2, has made him the most popular afternoon presenter on the Coast. Join George every weekday afternoon from 2 for edgy, energetic, upfront fun!
