Sponsored Walk

Each day hundreds of people listen to Central FM via the web. UK internet listeners got together and organised a walk to raise money for local charities.

The sponsored walk event took place in Saddleworth near Oldham, Manchester. Throughout the mini-marathon, the walkers called at local pubs asking customers for more donations. Event organizer, John Holdsworth, said the walkers received a great deal of support. "The event raised lots of money for local charities through the people taking part and donations given. We also managed a few free pints along the way donated by local pubs" he said.

The event finished at The Church Inn pub, Uppermill, four hours after they set off.

A big thanks to everyone who took part!
