On 26th August, classic rock returns to the Plaza De Toros in Estepona. Not since Deep Purple rocked the town and packed the same venue in 2008 has Estepona seen a concert of this size.
The Pink Purple Zep Fest is a celebration of the music of three of the biggest names in rock history, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin. The music will be performed by three of the leading tribute bands from the UK, namely Think Floyd, Deeper Purple and Whole Lotta Led.
Whilst it would have been great to have the real bands performing, sadly it is no longer possible to see the real Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin play live and even the real Deep Purple don't perform a lot of the classic songs from their heyday in the 70's, so The Pink Purple Zep Fest is effectively the next best thing for fans of classic rock.
Indeed, when asked why they choose to play someone else's music, a spokesperson for Deeper Purple said "first and foremost we are all fans of Deep Purple and love the music". As such, anyone attending the concert can expect all of the bands to perform the music with the passion and energy one might have experienced had they been fortunate (and old) enough to see the original bands in the 60's and 70's.
Tickets are a very reasonable €25 for standard entry and there are a limited number of VIP tickets available for only €70.
