Missing teenage girl may have been lured into prostitution
Fears are growing for the missing 15 year old girl from Molino de Segura. Her mother reported her missing nine days ago, and now fears she may have been lured into prostitution. Her family received a letter supposedly from their daughter, saying she was safe and not to worry, but her mother believes the letter was written by a former friend who was previously involved in prostitution. Police have no more information as yet.
Man imprisoned for child abuse, set to be released
A man sentenced to four and half years in prison for child abuse, is set to be released. He sexually abused his two teenage daughters for several years, the eldest committed suicide in 2004, aged just 17. The man’s wife fears for her family’s safety now her husband is being released.
27 policemen arrested in Madrid
27 police officers have been arrested in Madrid, involved in numerous corruption charges. The Chief of local police in Coslada in the capital has also been detained, with more arrests anticipated as investigations continue. The operation has been under investigation for months, with the officers involved with prostitutes and accepting bribes from bar and shop owners all over Madrid. There are also reported links to a Romanian mafia gang, which are still under investigation.
Drunk driver left children home alone
A 39 year old woman is in custody, for leaving her 8 and 9 year old children home alone. Traffic police stopped the woman as she was driving erratically in Malaga, she was over the alcohol limit and taken in for questioning, it was then revealed she had left her children alone. Their grandmother is now looking after them. Social services are undertaking a full investigation.
Muñoz and councillors accept Judge’s deal
Ex Marbella mayor Julián Muñoz and another five former town councilors have accepted the deal offered to them by judge Óscar Pérez. Their cases will now not go to court, as they have each accepted a 12 month prison sentence for each case they are implicated in. They are all facing a maximum three years in prison, starting in September, as the law states a maximum of triple the time frame for sentencing, which is just the three years. Investigations go back to 1995.
Driver caught twice in Malaga in 48 hours without licence
A driver was caught for the second time in 48 hours, for driving without a licence. The 30 year old was stopped by police in Malaga during a routine control, one of the first drivers to be fined for not having a licence, following the introduction of the new laws. Two days later he was caught again during another random road block, and may now face a prison term of minimum three months.
